I read through all the posts from the post about the funniest things students have said to them, and I was going to add some, but it was too old - and I figured this would be okay to post again. :)

I know I'm forgetting many, but two of the ones I can remember...

I graduated high school five years ago, but I assist some of my teachers at my studio when I'm home visiting or on breaks if they need me. And most of the students at the school know who I am because of other classes I've taught and just my reputation. The one time I came back a little girl asked me where I was all the time. And I told her I was in college. Her eyes got real wide and her mouth fell open and she's like, "YOU'RE IN COLLEGE?!" (it was my senior year at the time) and then she asked how old I was, and I told her 22. "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE THAT OLD!!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE 14!!"

And then a few weeks ago, another little girl went up to the director and said, "Miss ____, what would happen if you got sick or died? Who would take us to competition???"

Haha I love little kids and what they say!

Last year my three and four year olds were working on their tap dance. I said, "okay this is the last time. Let's practice smiling big!"

One of my girls looks at me and responds, "Okay but only once more. my arms are staring to sweat!"

thought it was the best thing I have heard

To help keep itty bitties focused during tendus we'll count to ten. So we'd been counting in Spanish a lot and one class one of my little 4 year olds comes in and says "Ms. ______, guess what!?" "What?" "I can count in Spanish all by myself! Uno, Dos, Tress, Taco, Cinco, Seis....." I don't remember if she indeed got to 10 because I was trying my best not to roll on the floor I wanted to laugh so hard.

The other great thing was I was choreographing a cute duet and had two adorable 8 year olds dancing it. The little boy had obviously fallen down before a rehearsal and cut open his chin and he had a band-aid on it. The little girl looks at him and asks, "Why do you have a band-aid on your chin?" He looks at her, runs his hand over chin and deadpans, "I cut myself shaving." Me and his mom were crying we were laughing so hard.

Haha these are great! isn't our job just the best?? I had afew funny ones this week..
One little girl passed by me during freeze dance and said, "my doctor made me pee in a cup!" I was laughing histerically!
another little one said "you're old.." I said, "oh yea? how old do you think i am?" she replied "FIVE!"
And a little boy was telling me about transformers and wanted to show me his "transformers dance" so I agreed, and he quickly folded himself into a little ball on the ground and said THERE!!

I don't know why, but that reminded me of another one.

Last week, some costumes came in, and I was helping the studio owner sort through them (since apparently a few of the costumes had sewing mistakes). One of the costumes was a frilly little yellow tutu attached to a leotard for one of the other teacher's little 3-4 year old class. The one little girl is really tall and a bit chunky for her age, so she wasn't sure if the one size would fit her or not, but wouldn't see her for another week to try it. So one of the 8 year olds from another class was there early, and she's the girl's same height, so we asked her to try it on for judgment. Later that day, she was running around telling EVERYONE "they made me try on a BABY costume!!!"

It was SO cute and funny! haha

I have a little 3 yr old boy who is always saying something hilarous- his older sister also takes dance with me and is my assistant teacher for his class and we are always cracking up at his comments for example:

- one week he wanted to be called 'ka chow'

- when he's tired or doesn't want to do anything he says his car is out of gas (this got all the girls in his class saying this as well one week)

- a few weeks ago we were doing 'washing machine' working on isolations and I am always telling the students to put their hands on their hips- my assistant was not putting her hands on her hips and he yelled across the room 3x to tell her she wasn't doing it right and she need to put her hands on hips. I know they went home and told their parents.

I had a little girl in my 5-7 Ballet I class ask me if I had alcohol in my water bottle. I almost died. I told her, no Lainey, I have water in my water bottle. And she goes, "Well you know, you could have alcohol in there because sometimes it looks like water."
What are they telling this kid at home?
The same little girl on an entirely different day goes "Miss Jennifer guess what?" and I ask her what and she got all hush hush and goes "I don't know if I should tell you." Eventually she says "My parents let me try alcohol and it was icky."

Pre-k class (3.5-5years)
Miss _____ says "You are all so smart. The brightest little girls and boys!
5 year-old girl says "well you think they're smart, but really I'm the smartest. I mean really!"
I had to hold back the laughter, but you know that she was dead on!

first day of classes for my k/1st grade class, they went around and stated their name, grade and favorite food. "lemon PECKER chicken" killed me, we talk about this 4 years later

oh there are so many!!
I had a group of 3 and 4 year olds on the floor doing Ms Puffy (in a butterfly stretch). One of the little girls passed gas and another child said uhh..what was that? the little girl that had passed gas said oh nothing just my bottom burped. I just about died..her little face was so serious!!

I also had a 5 year old ask me if I went to the tanning bed. I told her no and she well good b/c my mom goes *naked(she whispers) and her butt is as red as a lobster!! The mother wanted to die when I told her!

Last one...I had a 3 year old tell me that that her dad and gotten her mom and new "titty". I tried to change the subject thinking she meant implants, but she kept insisting to talk about it!! Finally when class was over and mom came in to get her she said Miranda, did you tell your teacher about our new kitty!!! She was trying to tell me about the cat the whole time!!!

One of my favorites happened earlier this year when one of my three year olds bowled me over. This girl's been a student of mine for over a year (she was in my two year-old class last year), and very affectionate, but I had yet to hear her speak one word in over a year (literally)! As I was tying her tap shoes for her one day she looked right at me and said "My sister Avery went to school last week and fell off the wagon". I don't know if it was the falling off the wagon reference that got me or the fact that after knowing her for over a year, I finally heard what this girl's voice sounded like!

I can only hope that there was one of those red radio flyer wagons involved in this story, otherwise there's a first grader out there with a very serious drinking problem...

"Hey Miss ____ "
"Yes?"
"How old are you?"
"I'm 20."
"Wow, my cousin's 20 too. I'm surprised you aren't married yet."

Here is my funny story of the week, I teach an all boys class and they say the crazies things.

So my 4 year old says Hey Miss A!
I reply yeah Tommy
He says I got a job today
I say really?
He says yeah, at Jasons Deli making $20 an hour
Then I say Wow! Thats alot of money
He nods and says yep
I reply and ask can I get a job
He replies NO you don't know what you are doing!

Oh, and the same child told the entire class that he invented water!

Oh I remembered another one...
I just got engaged this year and when I told my 5-7s the news one of them asked
"If you're getting married does that mean you're pregnant?"
I almost died

I have a 2 year old in one of my baby classes that cracks me up every week. We were changing their shoes for tap and she pulled her shoes out of her bag for me to help her. Stuck on one of the taps was a piece of popcorn. I asked her if it was popcorn and she looked at it, pulled it off and ate it. I looked at her and said, "Oh, don't eat that! That's yucky!" And she laughed and whispered, "Shhh! Don't tell mommy!"

I also asked her who her favorite Disney princess was, and she replied, "Viola!" Which is her name.

I assisted in class tonight and one of my students came up to me and said...

"Today is my birthday. Mommy offered to make me treats to take to school. But everyone there hates me and is really really mean to me. Wyatt is mean to me, Adrianne is mean to me, and Leah is mean to me. So I told mommy just to give them granola bars. But she made cupcakes anyways. So I ate six of them and then threw the rest of them away. So HA to Wyatt and all of them. No birthday treats for them!"
It was so funny I about peed myself.

I was in my class with three year old girls and I popped a mint into my mouth. One of the littlest girls came up to me and was like "ah. ah. choking hazard, spit it out you will choke!"

It was great...

These are great! I love the little ones!
I actually just posted this one in CM: My little boys hip hop is great, but they are a little crazy! One day I had them put "glue" on their feet to keep them still while I talked. One little boy kept playing around and fell over. Then another little boy said, "We should have used cement!"

One of my 3's asked if she could spend the night with me. I said "you don't know where I live!" and she replied "Yes, I do! Studio B!" she actually thought I lived in one of the rooms at our studio.

I always used to say "Practice makes perfect!" Then my students started saying it which was cute, except one little girl said it like "Practice makes perverts!" She kept saying it over and over so finally I had to be like "Okay! That's enough!"

I just thought of another one - but it happened almost a year ago. haha

I had finished my classes for the night, and I was waiting downstairs with some of the little girls waiting for their parents to pick them up. It was a summer night past the recital. The group of us teachers did a high powered jazz routine at the very end as a surprise.

The one girl goes, "My dad videod the recital! He was zooming in on you a lot. He's thinks you're pretty." And I just kind of stared at her. And then she goes, "AND HE'S MARRIED!!!"

I was like... oh... my... goodness!

For our recital I had to wear a long frilly dress. I was running down the corridor to my changing room after I had done that piece and one of the younger boys was standing in his dressing room but looking out the door. As I passed him he said to one of the dressing room mums
' THAT would be hard to go to the toilet in!'

LOL! It made me laugh anyway :)

Yesterday, I was walking through another class, and the teacher was taking a drink from her diet coke during the shoe change time. A little girl approached her and said "My mom loves that kind of beer too!" She is 4! We were trying so hard not tho laugh...

One of my 6 year olds last week asked my assistant if she and I were sisters. My assistant looked slightly horrified because she is only 15 and I'm like in my 40's.

I had a 4 year old who saw me out shopping at a grocery store and asked her mom what I was doing there. Her mom said shopping like we are. The little girl looked worried and said "but she lives at the studio, what if she isn't there when I come to class?"
