Right now at my studio we charge $75 an hour for privates. Solos pay the whole fee while duets split it. I know it sounds steep but we are in Miami and rent is high. What do you charge and do you have package deals? Ive brought package deals up to the SO before and she seemed to not wanna budge.

At our studio the kids/parents choose which teacher they want to work with for their privates. We generally do them in 30 minute time slots and the rate varies from 20-35 per 1/2 hour depending on the teacher. Each teacher keeps their money from the privates, so the SO never has to get involved other than to say what room is available at what times.

^ Same where I am. If the studios charge a rental fee for the space, the student(s) also pay for that as well.

Our studio charges $50 an hour but instructors only make their hourly rate. I've thought about asking for a better rate when I do teach a private lesson. What would be the best way to go about that???

depends which teacher. Some are 10 dollars per half hour, some are 13 dollars per half hour. So 20 dollars an hour or 26 dollars an hour. we are in a disadvantaged area though.

We charge $20 per half hour or $70 a month for 1/2 hour each week.

I charge $25/half hour. I sometimes give package deals and work the amount according to what the packing is...I also work with the families to find an arrangement that works, but I never take less then $20/half hour.
