Just a cute little story I thought I'd share...
I have a hip hop class of 8 boys aged 5-7. They are adorable and so much fun, but very antsy. Its hard to get them to hold still to show them things! So last week I was attempting to show them a step and, as usual, they were jumping around and so on. So I stopped and said, "Okay, get out your glue." I pretended to pick up a jar of glue and unscrew the lid. They looked at me all confused for about 2 seconds, then got big smiles and started repeating after me. I instructed them to brush glue on one foot and stick it to the floor, then do the same with the other. Then I explained that now their feet were stuck to the floor so they could hold still and listen. I went on to explain the step as my craziest little kid pretended to struggle to get his feet off the ground and then he fell over. I had to laugh. But the funniest part was immediately after, one little boy said "I guess we should have used cement!" I love kids! So funny!

I love your story! Very cute. I'm not a hip hop teacher, I teach ballet so usually don't get much interest from young boys. I did have a 6 year old once, he only came because his sister was taking ballet and he didn't want to be left out. He didn't last very long in my class because like most boys his age, he was more interested in pounding, hitting and kicking things. He was way too physical with the girls. I should have tried the glue trick. I do have two boys currently in ballet but they are older.
