Teachers - Job Talk Tap Arms and styling. Help please! en>fr fr>en By Ahusk89 Comments: 536, member since Sun Apr 01, 2007On Mon May 18, 2009 07:20 PM
I grew up tapping broadway style tap. Very straight classical arms. Well now that I teach tap I teach a very different style than I learned. I love the style I teach but I need more ideas for arms. I am not a huge fan of "natural" arms but I don't want to go back to my old traditional arms. Can you guys give me some hints on what you use or good videos with arms. I know it's kind of an odd question! Thanks!

Hey Alex natural arms are in but you can always do behind the back or waist is always good. My tap students wear jeans a lot for competition and recital and putting there hands in their pockets work also. Hope that helps. |

Just play with them. Even natural looking arms can be choreographed. I just play with how I like it and then make them copy me.
I love Broadway style tap the best, too!! |
