What a tough decision! I'm always impressed with the entries in our annual karaoke contest and this year was no exception. Kudos to everyone who entered. You've all done marvelously! Congratulations!
In the
Funniest Karaoke Performance category, there were two prizes awarded.
Second Prize is awarded to d4j for her cute French-language song,
C'est Si Bon. I loved how d4j didn't take herself too seriously. The shoutout to DDNers during the instrumental, followed by exclamations of "Ooh la la!" were delightful and had me giggling. Well done, d4j!
D4j wins a Ribbon, flowers and a teddy bear.
First Prize is awarded to DancingTea and her cat Max, for their "duet",
Creep. DancingTea's attempts to hold herself together despite Max's incessant interruptions were very giggle-worthy. This was a shining example of the phrase "the show must go on". Highly entertaining!
DancingTea wins a DDN Premium Membership, a trophy, flowers, chocolates and Karma.
In the
Best Karaoke Performance category, there were two prizes and one honorable mention awarded. These three winners were very difficult to separate.
An
Honorable mention goes to smileywoman for her three fabulous entries (as well as the ineligible duet with Mr smileywoman). All of her songs were sung with sensitivity and
My Funny Valentine was particularly beautiful.

Second Prize is awarded to Panic (for the third year in a row - this is starting to become a serious habit!) for his very cool rendition of
Stormy Weather. Panic's vocal technique was assured and stylistically correct and he was pitch perfect. What a great performance!

First Prize is awarded to soul_mannequin for her fantastic performance of Alanis Morissette's
Uninvited. This song is deceptively difficult and soul_mannequin made it sound easy. Her technique was very strong, she was stylistically accurate and her pitch was excellent. She also did not try to emulate the original, retaining her own sound. What a star!

Thank you again to ALL entrants for taking part and well done! I'm so proud of you all! It was great to hear such joy in the songs this year. I definitely felt uplifted listening to the entries.
