Hello!
I have finally decided that i am going to audition at london contemporary dance school in september, after a lot of self doubting! Part of the audition is a performing a solo, which i plan to choreograph because it's recommended and i feel like it can only help me develop as long as i get guidance from teachers as i go. Anywhoo i am having one issue, i'm lacking ideas for a theme for my dance...i figure i should have one otherwise the piece won't be going anywhere choreographically. If anyone has any suggestions to offer that aren't common in auditions i'd be incredibly grateful, i'm feeling a bit useless with ideas. Also, is music composed by Philip Glass overused? I really think his compositions work so well with contemporary dance!
Anyway, i'll be quiet now! Any advice, or even experiences with school would be so helpful! :D
Jess
