With my 2 1/2 -3 year old class I want to do something special with them the last two weeks of classes since they don't do recital. Last week I read the kid version of 'Swan Lake' to them. The last week we will dance to the music but this Wednesday (their class) I want to do a super easy craft with them (that maybe they can dance with) We've already done crowns this year. Any ideas Thanks in advance.

This doesn't really have anything to do with swan lake however it would work. Actually last night at dress rehearsal I had a mom reminiscing with me and the most special thing that she remembered was this craft I did with the kids one summer. I actually got the idea off this site.

Have the kids stand in first position on a piece of paper. Trace around their foot and then write their names on them and have them decorate them. They are their "first position reminders." The kids can take them home and stand on them to remember how to do first position. It also ends up looking just like a heart, and it shows the size of the kids feet as a keepsake for mom. They could dance around with it and then stand on it to make their first positions...so cute I can see it now!
