I could not find some when I needed them so I made them. I used flexible clear plastic, then I ordered the feathers in the colors and sizes I needed.

Plus it was easier for me to do that instead of explain why they cost so much. It's definitely something you can do yourself, plus you can jazz them up with rhinestones on the feathers, or sequin trim.

Artstone and Curtain call both have them I believe. I don't know how much they charge.

Have you checked Oriental Trading Co.?

Thadancer... can I ask, did you order feathers that were the ful length of the plastic stakes or smaller ones that you put in a diagonal pattern? Did you just use craft glue? Any advice would be great THANKS

I had both the large ones for the shape, then the small ones for the fullness to fill in between. And I used an epoxy glue from the craft store, so I would never have to re-glue them.

And even if you see the steams of the feathers it's okay, I covered them with a fabric that I liked then trimmed them with sequin trim. It cost me appox. $13 each to make.

They sound great - you dont happen to have any pics you would be happy to post? I am having trouble visulaizing the fabric on it? For the plastic stakes - did you buy a kit or did you just put a bolt through them yourself to make them fan out?

I will look to see if I can find some photos, the farbic is an option. To make things easier you can use paper or plastic fans to attach the feathers too.

You have alot of opptions and can dress them up or keep them low key. I reccomend just buying cheap fans then adding the feathers for the size and look, and it already has the shape you are looking for.

someone recommended this site a while ago for props
haloheaven.com
You could use the small feather fans and put them together to make a large one?

I just bought $250 worth of headpieces, etc. from HaloHeaven.com, based on a recommendation here. I found them to be better and cheaper than Oriental Trading (whose items have gotten skimpier over the years.) We just had our recital and the kids LOVED their headpieces = elastic feather wreaths with a ton of 3 foot long ribbons down the back. These went well with their maiden costumes in Coppelia.

For "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now" we bought their white brim hats with pink feathers, added pink boas, pink tutus (these were great, not too skimpy nor pouffy) and pink fishnet elbow length gloves. I'll have to post some pictures, as I was very pleased.

I know they had feather fans, but I'm not sure of the size.

Hi, I hope this is ok, as I am not a teacher, but I am an assistant. Mods, please delete this if you feel it necessary.

I just wanted to let you know that I sent you a PM with several links, for a variety of sizes, prices, etc. Let me know if any of these work out.
