This was my first recital with them. I taught four classes this year and enjoyed them. The kids have awesome stage presence.

Ahusk I looked through several of your pictures and saw your student's checklist of things they needed to work on. It took me FOREVER to figure out what "tenek" was!!!!

Isn't that precious! She is a very talented 7 year old but just can't spell yet! Every week I would go through and write out her solo steps and I flipped though the pages and found it!

My boyfriend is starting to take pictures for a dance studio- I was wondering if you would be able to ask the lady that took these pictures what kind of lens she has??? We are having trouble because of the low lighting, etc.

What type of camera is he using now? I know my own photographer uses the same type as they use for sports, action shots.

In the meantime, whilst waiting for an answer, here is one I found on a photographer message board...
What you want to do will be very challenging for a point and shoot camera. You will need a DSLR for the best result. Obviously you cannot use flash for opera and dance. You need both a good DSLR and a very good and fast zoom/prime lens.
Canon 30D (has spot meter and so a better choice than the 20D) with Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS will probably be a good choice with good versatility and will give you good result. If you can get close to the stage, then you may be able to use the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Lens which saves you a lot of money. If you decide to get a DSLR, you should borrow one from your friend and see what zoom range you may need to get the best shots from where you usually stands. This may help you to decide which prime lens to get. But you will need a fast lens with wide aperture (f/2.8 and wider, wider means smaller number eg. f/1.4). he has a sonya200 and yes it is a DSLR. We just can't seem to get very clear shots with the lens he has now. Thank you for your help...I will pass those suggestions on to him!
