Not to say that some certifications are not excellent, but some are borderline, or worse and mean absolutely nothing to me. I am a better teacher now, than when I was certified and have not kept up with mine either.

Exactly I am much better teacher than I was when I keeping up with my certifications, plus only a couple of parents out of a ton even know there are certifications.

I am financially not able to afford the cost of the certifications, plus I can take the money I use on that and go do many other forms of training.
