Creative Movement Looking for non-Disney Princess music en>fr fr>en By LeDanser Comments: 151, member since Mon Feb 26, 2007On Sun Jul 05, 2009 09:23 PM
I am teaching a creative movement camp this week for 4-6 year olds. The first days theme is Princesses. I would so much like to NOT use Disney music, it's so mainstream and it's not my style. I figured this would be an easy feat, but somehow has turned into a last minute fiasco. Please, just a few titles with artist names that can be downloaded would be greatly appreciated! I would gladly return the favor when needed. The few songs that I have right at this moment (which I am not terribly "sold" on are:
I Love Being a Princess - Backyardigans
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - Bond
To Be A Princess - Barbie Sings
I need something soft and whimsical for warm ups, an up beat one for freeze dance and a few more just to have as back ground during crafts. I like to keep everything within the theme and it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Thanks again in advance. 9 Replies to Looking for non-Disney Princess music |

I can't think of the name but it's about a fiary princess rescueing a unicorn. I have it and will have to look it up tomorrow but at the end it says "touch your magic tiara and walk backwards it will make you invisible" it also says things like "spin around to make the evil dragon dizzy". I can't think of the name but it works great with a little intro to ballet! It includes skipping, hiding, spinning, swimming, and a few others. I'll repost tomorrow if I can figure out the name or the exact lyrics. |

Look for the music from Once Upon a Mattress, and the non-Disney version of Cinderella with Leslie Ann Warren (1965). Also, Anastasia, and the Shrek movies. |

I would totally be interested in that song if you could get me the title. Maybe I can throw it in later this week. Thank you for the suggestions, as I was wracking my brain I wonderfully remembered Enchanted, the soundtrack. Just thought I would add it to the thread in case anyone comes back to this in the future. |

There is a Kimbo Cd called Castles, knights and Unicorns we use in our creative movement "class for royalty". I don't know if you can find it for download anywhere - we have the Cd, but its a fun one, It has music that works for little girls and boys. |

Anastasia is not Disney and it has some great songs. Camelot has a few songs - not all of them are good for the little ones. Any Ballets with Princesses - Sleeping Beauty. |

I believe "Secret Garden" was about teaching that all girls are princesses. Try that movie for music and songs. |

About 100 songs. They are from a Fairy-tale Park. So you can hear Witches and Kings too.
