Teachers - Job Talk Acrobat Teacher...Need some Advice!!! en>fr fr>en By cubey33 Comments: 7, member since Wed Mar 18, 2009On Mon Jul 06, 2009 02:44 PM
I have been dancing and tumbling my whole life. I am now 27 years old and have been teaching my own acrobat/tumbling classes for the past three years. I have a great turnover rate for my students, and my classes really progress well. However, I do not have any acreditations or certifications to teach Acrobat other than my own experience of 20+ years. I know that I am a good teacher, and my classes are safe...but I would like to get some type certification. I know that there is still more that I can learn to help my kids though. Is there some type of program that achieves this?? I am not sure what type of training I would need to be certified? Any books?? DVDS?? Any help would be great! Thanks 6 Replies to Acrobat Teacher...Need some Advice!!! |

Dance Masters of America has an acro syllabus and certifies by test to teach. I did this 17 years ago so it has changed quite a bit, worth looking into. |

I also have been looking for some kind of Acro/Tumbling certification, seminar, etc for many years and this is the only one I have come across. I haven't made it to Dance Masters of America yet but that is my plan. Someone mentioned some DVD's on here awhile back here is the link
www.tumblebear.com . . .
Hope this helps

Thank you for the tumblebear link. It was helpful. I did reach out to my local DMA chapter about information, but I didn't get anything from them ever Do you go to the TTS and only learn one type of dance? Or do you go specifically for acrobatics, jazz, ballet, etc??? Thanks! |

Thanks for your info about the training...
I was wondering if you had any good skills and drills to do for aerial cartwheels? I am having a hard time getting my girls to get this trick..I can do it, but it was the hardest trick for me to get.....
Any help would be great! Thanks - Jen |

If you go to DMA TTS you take classes in all forms of dance. If it is your first time going, you are in Level 1 and you take classes in all subjects. |
