Several things i do not understand:
1. He says "advanced jazz." Doesn't look so advanced to me.
2. When looking at the pirouette video: www.youtube.com . . .
she turns always on a bent knee, and he mentions this is correct?
3. In the pirouette video, she prepares for a turn turned out, with arms in ballet position, but then turns turned in, jazz style. ?? |

This makes me want to gouge my eyes out with spoons. When is a turn EVER started in grande plie a la seconde?
Who else thinks that guy is super creepy? *shudder* |

Actually, a turn, in jazz, can be started in plié, but normally fourth, not second. |

The link from youtube takes you to a longer bio on him where it talks mainly about his experience as a makeup artist! |

The fact that he teaches a forced arch pirouette as a correct and normal jazz pirouette is frustrating! I teach all my dancers to do correct, pulled up, straight leg pirouettes first, when they have those down we work on stylized pirouettes, like those done in a forced arch position! |

This would be why our jobs as true educators, see the use of the word "educators" becomes more difficult. We have students that come to us with this horrid tehcnique then we have to re-work everything that they have learned in the past.
Uh...when will people ever learn?! |
