I voted no, but maybe I should have said "sometimes". I am an adult beginner with 5 competitions under my belt. I have placed in 3 of them. Three of the competitions had adult beginner classes and I placed at 2 of those. At the remaining 2 competitions I was in an "11 and over" class. At one of those competitions I placed 4th in the Seann Truibhas and 3rd in the Lilt (in a class of 16 dancers).

I am a beginner and have been to 9 competitions, I've placed at all of them but one, but I fell in the middle of one of my dances and was injured.
