My parents divorced for several reasons, I think. My Dad is a very stubborn guy and does not like to compromise on what he wants, he was not good with money, and he wanted more children and my mom felt that she was more comfortable with focusing on me only. |

This is sorta off topic, but I believe one of the reasons there were less divorces decades ago was because women had less options. Put up and shut up was basically the only accepted choice. Makes me squirm just thinking about it.
I haven't researched it and am too lazy to right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if divorce rates began going up in the later 60's, early 70's, as women's rights came to the forefront of society. |

As someone with experience, I can tell you that there are a LOT of reasons behind divorce.
But the main reason? When one person (or both) stops trying. It takes two people to make a marriage work and when there is only one working at it, you won't get far. |
