Teachers - Job Talk Dance Teacher/Choreographer from England, UK en>fr fr>en By Charlotte25 Comments: 3, member since Wed Aug 12, 2009On Fri Aug 21, 2009 10:35 AM
Hi, i am a dance teacher experienced in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre & hip hip. I currently teach in the UK and would love to work in USA or Canada but know how difficult it is going to be to be to become employed or even to buy and own a studio. I recently attended a dance teachers conference in Toronto, Ca. which gave me a good insight and I think the teaching methods and standards would really suit me and i would love to get involved with competitions and include acro etc..which we just dont do in the UK. If you have any advice for me, or if you know anybody from the UK that has 'made it' I would be really interested to hear about it?
Thank you in advance! 1 Replies to Dance Teacher/Choreographer from England, UK |

For Canada you could easily get a BUNAC visa for a year. Its a student work visa. It's only for a year, but it would give you and idea of what living in Canada would be like. However, studios might be reluctant to hire you if you are only going to be around a year, unless they are looking at Maternity cover. Otherwise you are looking at a three year (minimum) process to apply for citizenship, and that depends on how many points you get as to if you would even be considered.. Unless you can be sponsered by family, then its a year long process. As for buying a business, you would need to go to the immigration website to figure that out. |
