What to Practice? en>fr fr>en

I am relatively new to ballet and am wondering what I can do outside of class to practice. Are there any good dance videos/DVDs that would help me practice, or does anyone have a routine of practice I might employ? I belong to a gym with a fantastic dance studio/space. I'm just wondering what is best to practice. Right now I'm mostly stretching.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for your input. I definitely don't want to practice bad habits. I already have enough of them that I'm trying to get rid of!!

if you are new to all of this then stay simple with things you can work on
like tendus ronde de jambes or pirrouette practices but you do have to be careful not to create new bad habits...stretch

When I am outside of class I really try to work on things that we don't have time for in class. Things like flexibility and strength are easy to work on when you are at home and they are things that you are expected to have when you get to class. I definitely agree with everyone else that you shouldn't practice anything that might cause bad habits. Also make sure that you don't practice things that are new to you and risky. Don't work on your 540s or your triple tours in your house because those are moves you want someone there to spot you on and give you pointers. Bad habits formed in those can be dangerous! :)
