I used this song about 5 or 6 years ago. Its from the musical The Tap Dance Kid. I bought the CD from a music store.

It's hard to find on CD! you can buy all the records you want! If you can't find it and need a copy please let me know! I'll be glad to burn it and mail it out to you! It is from the "Tap Dance Kid"! It took me forever last year to find it but was glad I did!

I know of the video you are speaking of and I don't think it is a woman. I think the song is just sped up so much. The voice sounds like a chipmunk in parts of it and my friend who is a recording engineer said there is no way that is near the speed the song was once recorded it.

I have never been able to find this song sung by anyone else. Not saying it has never been covered, but I have looked for many years.

She's right....

If you are talking about the phenominal tap dancer in a red unitard dancing a tap solo to this song...its only a sped up version of the original. This was sped up by changing the speed or pitch. So that is why the voice sounds like a chipmunk or woman.

Some editing software programs will let you change the tempo of the song, which only speeds up the music w/o making the singer sound cartoonish.

It took me MONTHS to find the MP3 of this song on limewire. If you want, I can take it and speed it up for you. If you do, send me your email address.

On a side note -- the original Tap Dance Kid on Broadway later played Carlton on Fresh Prince of BelAir.

FYI from a judges perspective...I would recommend not speeding the song up as much as the video because it doesn't sound good, or if the program you have will change the speed and not the pitch that might be better, but any tap judge will question the integrity of the recording in my opinion.
