About Grupo Foklórico Palo Santo Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo is a group of dancers and musicians in and around the Pioneer Valley region of Western Massachusetts that is dedicated to the study, teaching and performance of Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and music. The group's principle dancer and teacher of the Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance Class is Miguel Periche from Holguín, Cuba. This September the group celebrates the beginning of its fourth year.
On September 8 many people throughout the Americas will celebrate Orisha Yemayá, a deity originally from the Yoruba culture of Soutwest Nigeria. Since September 8 falls on a Tuesday, which is the regular day for Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo's Afro-Cuban dance class, we will be celebrating her day by teaching the dances and songs for Yemayá in this very special class.

Northeast American School of Dance
25 Main Street, Northampton MA
