About Grupo Foklórico Palo Santo
Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo is a group of dancers and musicians in and around the Pioneer Valley region of Western Massachusetts that is dedicated to the study, teaching and performance of Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and music. The group's principle dancer and teacher of the Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance Class is Miguel Periche from Holguín, Cuba. This September the group celebrates the beginning of its fourth year.

On September 8 many people throughout the Americas will celebrate Orisha Yemayá, a deity originally from the Yoruba culture of Soutwest Nigeria. Since September 8 falls on a Tuesday, which is the regular day for Grupo Folklórico Palo Santo's Afro-Cuban dance class, we will be celebrating her day by teaching the dances and songs for Yemayá in this very special class.

This and all other classes take place:

Tuesdays 8:00 PM

Northeast American School of Dance
25 Main Street, Northampton MA
(on the 4th floor, above the Fitzwillys restaurant)

$12 drop in; or $80 for an 8 class series.
