I started at 6, did it for about 2 years then quit. I've been doing a bit of dance here and there (Jazz and contemporary) but I started ballet again at 14. I'm now 16

so is it possibly to start at 20

I was 3 now I'm 12 and haven't stopped!

I was 4 and danced for 15 years. I would still be dancing but I had a medical retirement due to a dislocating my knee and spraining my acl (thanks mom and dad for giving me poopy genetics). So right now I teach

I was 2 I started with ballet and tap. it was so much fun and I've kept with it I'm 14 now

My early life, on, I wanted to take ballet lessons, but my parents could not afford it until they won free lessons to a local dance school, at a church bazaar. Then, I was blessed to win a full scholarship to a NY company school. I was just shy of 11 when I started.

I took my first ballet class when I was in high school, and I fell in love with it. Then, I tried to take as many dance classes as I could (ballet, modern, and Chinese folk dance). Two years later, I went to university with a major in Dance.

But being a dance major student, I always feel I'm never good at all comparing with all my classmates who started dancing when they were so much younger.

I am 21 and just started ballet for the first time a month ago.

My ballet teacher said it's never too late to start ballet~!

I started when I was 18. I've been going on and off for every 2-3 months and I'm 21 now I love it! I've tried jazz, but nothing beats ballet!

I started taking classes when I was 6, but the first record of my dancing was before my birth.

I was four or five, but I had to stop because we didn't have the money. I'm restarting this year! (Huge Woot!!)

I started when I was two, kept going until I was about 9, stopped dancing when I was 9 and started back when I was 13. (I'm 14 now.)

I was about nineteen or twenty when I took my first "actual" ballet class. I wanted to start when I was much younger, but felt somewhere between ashamed for wanting to do ballet (with being male) and also didn't want to risk being bullied or made fun of. I've been practicing ballet now off and on in secrecy ever since and do find it quite addicting.

My daughter was 3 when she started. She is now 5 and has advanced nicely and into a higher age bracket.

21 years old! and now starting afresh at 29!
