Hey!
I'd suggest you have a look on the Stretching Board (under Advice) for this question. The stickies at the top of the page have pretty much all the info you'll need, as this is a common question for gymnasts and dancers! |

^^ er that wikihow link calls forward splits box splits, so i would trust that
trying sitting in straddle for as long as you can (obviously having warming up). while in straddle trying reaching forward & aim to get your chest and belly on the floor.
another one- sit in straddle & put your arms straight up, lean forward and instead of trying to get flat on the floor try keeping a flat back, with arms up, and lean forward, when you feel you cant go any further without relaxing your back hold yourself (this is also good for working your abs if you do it properly).
you could also try the butterfly stretch; sitting with your feet together trying to get your knees on the floor.
or you could sit in straddle and try to push yourself flat against a wall, when you can go any further hold the straddle for around 30 seconds.
hope i've helped |

Well I tried the advice I found here and it was really helpful. Now I'm finding that I can extend almost an extra four to six degrees higher! |
