Ok, sooo I feel pretty good on stage in a group, even by myself when the choreo is easy, but...
Last night for fall show, last #, me, center stage, 8 fouettes.
8 measley fouettes. i did 2, then fell out of them and continued with like 4 embarrasing pirouettes from 5th
I can do 32 in class, I could do the 8 no problem in front of the whole studio in rehearsal, but I totally freaked out.
I get nauseus(sp?) the entire day/days of shows and cannot eat bc i am so worried.
If I am 100% in studio I'm like maybe 80% on stage.
I'm not one of those people who goes on stage and pulls the hard stuff off bc I'm so nervous.
I have had lots of lead parts before, but this seems to have gotten worse the last 3 yrs.
It's my last year performing and I want to make it good.
Any suggestions?

You have nothing to lose. It's your last year, your last chance. If you don't do it now, if you don't give everything you have now, you will regret it for the rest of your life. People only regret the chances they didn't take.

Don't be afraid to live. The worst that can happen is that you fail. You'll get over that. You made it so far. You're strong enough. Maybe you cry, maybe you feel miserable for a while, but the world will keep turning, there will be a next day tomorrow, there will be new chances every day.

If the nerves become very physical, you can consider something homeopathic. I love 'Passion Flower Complex' myself. Try it before you use it while performing.

Hmm. I did consider an antianxiety drug(not rashly, I promise- as I have to prescribe these often in my practice), but I've never taken one, and am not sure how I would feel while on it. Esp since we don't even let pts drive while on them, I don't think that's the way to go.
I might try that homeopathic you mentioned.
