I am doing a recital right around Valentine's day for children ages 2-5. I have 12 dances in the recital it is for a child care dance program. Therefore, the dance classes are either creative movement classes for 2-3 year olds or ballet & tap classes for 3-5 year olds. I'm having trouble thinking of child friendly "love" or Valentines Day music....any suggestions?

I once used Hopelessly Devoted to You" from Grease with a 3 year olds class and they dances with baby dolls as the object of thier devotion

we are doing this as well in february- some songs we think we will use for that age are- "you've gotta have heart" (broadway kids version is great), "Who wrote the book of love", "Calender Girl" maybe too.

Look up Valentines Day on Itunes, we did a really cute Preschool Tap song to Valentines Day, but I don't know the album or artist, but I did get it off there.

On iTunes...Look up Cadenza Education Press's Celebrate album. I have a really cute song or two that I use in class that week.

"Happy Valentine's Day" and "I Have A Heart" are nice 1st one is tappy and the 2nd is definitely a ballet!!

Also I like "Friendship Dance" on Valentine's Day album-cute for Ballet

On that same album, "Making Valentine's" is a cute and short tappy song.

"My Secret Valentine" by Brian Kinder is okay...Kinda lame but useable...

"Happiness Is" from the Charlie Brown Soundtrack could be cute for one of the older ballet songs. Talks about love and friendship.

"You're Wish Is My Wish Too" from the Meet The Care Bears Soundtrack is sweet and could be used if reaching for a song and you tie it into the friendship/love theme

Musicworks has the perfect song. I am singing it but cannot come up with a name. I did it @ 15 years ago using big (empty) valentine choco boxes. Costumes were amazing....ruffled heart on tush!! too cute!

I'll keep sing and maybe the name will come to me!!
