Approximately when do you usually plan to start and finish your dances for recital? en>fr fr>en

Does anybody set themselves a timeline to start and finish dances for recital and competition? If so, when are your start and finish dates for each. Also, I know it varies per class (and also depending on the competition date) but about how many counts of 8 do you usually aim to give your kids each week? I have my own timeline I loosely stick by but I'm just curious how "in the norm" it is. Thanks!

I usually start my recital pieces late January or the begining of February. I work on choreography for 10-20 minutes each class. I like to be finished by the begining of May.

Competition dances usually start end of October and the first competition is the end of February.
