DOing a rocker production number this year. Looking for a way to put the kids hair in mohawks. I saw it at nationals last year without the use of a wig and Im trying to figure out the best way. I know you could do it a pony hawk ish thing...I was thinking possibly go old school banana clips??

Anyone have any isntrucitons or article on how to do some girl fo-hawk like hair styles?

Thanks

I was going to say banana clips too...never tried it but I think it would work. It will depend on how long the girls hair is I suppose. If you tease the ends of the hair it might help it to say up.

Going back a few decades...I got a few insider tips on the traditional mohawk from some friends in high school. After dividing the hair into sections, use q-tips in the center of each section as a base of support, then cover the hair in elmers glue to hold it all together, molding it into the desired shape....not very practical for a costume change, but it will definitely stay through anything ;)

We did Mohawks last year and my girls just used lots of spray, hair glue and back combing, the q-tips is a very good idea though, then you just have to hope there's no other dances too soon afterwards for them :D
