Does anyone know what conventions/competitions come to the Billings MT area? I am new to the area and am looking for an outlet for performances and classes.

There are several comps that usually come around Billings on a rotation, I would suggest just doing a Google search of some big names. I believe Thunderstruck was there last summer. One of the best things about dancing in Montana is the Montana Dance Arts Association. They are an orginization that tries to bring some excellent dance talent and opportunity to Montana dancers who normally would not get exposure. They do a workshop every fall and spring. If you would like to PM me, I could give you some more info to look into.

You can search for all the competitions in your area. I quickly selected Montana for you and all that came up was I Love Dance but you might be able to find more.

Tinydncr, thanks for the link. That gives me a good start. I have googled several conventions and competitions to see if they come but there are so many now.

Turtletoeshoe, Thanks for the info on Montana Dance Arts Association. I have heard about them but don't know too much about them. I have only been here for 3 months from Chicago originally. I am actually in Wyoming but close to the boarder. Are you from the area? I would love to network and learn more about MDAA but I can't PM you. I go to billings for competitions there is I love dance (May 9th), Spotlight Dance Cup also for sure. If you are in WY. We also go there (we live in Rapid City SD so nothing comes here) which they bring in Spotlight Dance Cup (April 9-11) Thunderstruck, Also Spotlight does take a convention to both billings and Gillette WY. not sure the dates though. In the Fall Tam Jams gos to Gillette most of the time around the end of august mid sep. and the studio live 2 dance there is having a workshop (i think Jan 2 ??) so you may want to check that out too. They bring in some people from NJ and New York and stuff normally Hope this helps maybe we will see you at competition or a convention
