In the past day I've been getting an ad for something called Outback mountain mud...a stain removing product...and when it comes on it covers the texts part of DDN. Needless to say it's annoying, particularly since I'm a premium member. The ad pretends to wash the mud away and icons to the right side of the window (I have no problem with that part of it.)

It's so annoying. It pops up 2 or 3 times on every page here for me.

I'm only on at work and our pop up blockers are pretty intense. I've had it come up once but I didn't think too much of it. It would be pretty annoying to have that continuously.

Right click on it and scroll down until you get to the 'block ads from ___' and then click that. It *should* disappear after that.

Me too and it's driving me CRAAAZY!

Everytime I open up a new page, it's there....

My pop-up ad blocker has been blocking it most of the time, but I have seen it.

My least favorite kind of pop-up ad is the kind that has sound! They startle me sometimes!


EDIT: Ironically, I got that ad right after I posted this. I was able to close it by clicking that X in the box right underneath the picture of the dirt.

Unfortunately the best performing ad network these days gives us the least control over ads - and a number of them don't quite follow the rules (or at least what I'd consider the rules to be). Not much I can do about it.

is there a certain amount of time that the ad will be on ddn?

I'm now not getting just one ad but two of them on the screen every time I click a link on the site.

Whoever has Firefox, if you right click on it, scroll down and click 'block images from ___' it should stop showing up on your screen. It might try to break through under another name at some point, but just do the same thing and it'll be gone.

I've been getting that ad, too. Actually, when I read this thread, it came up. I've been able to close it with the X before, but this time I couldn't find the X. *Runs away screaming* It's getting more powerful! Stop it before it destroys the world!

that ad was driving me crazy! i haven't seen it in awhile but if it comes up again im going to block it!

I have Safari on a Mac and it just showed up one time and then never came back *knock on wood*

Ugh, now there's one for Andalucia Spain and links to spain.info and andalucia.com or something. I clicked on it and it didn't take me anywhere so I couldn't get an address. I keep mousing over it by accident and it covers up the top half of the page. It pretends to rip open and folds downward.

^Right click it, hit 'properties' and it will tell you more info on the ad and where it's from.

I'd like to find these ad people and tape a poster to their living room windows, facing inward, that says...

Hey look! I'm interupting your view with this huge poster!
