Barabran? Anyone heard of or had experience with them? en>fr fr>en

We are going nuts because most of the comps in the Philly area have moved their locations to Lancaster or part of New Jersey, making most of our competitions needing hotel accommodations, which raises costs for our parents.

We usually do three close by and one further away but this year the only one that we like, close by (Access Broadway) we cannot do because of conflicts with student's scheduling (communion, prom).

I am desperate to find a local one for them and got this one in the mail and it is right nearby, in the Lehigh Valley (near Allentown). Has anyone had any experience with them?

hey janet. we went to this competition about 7-8 years ago. i don't remember much about, but they really stick to the rules -- lol. 2 of our dances had more then the allowed gymnastic passes and they actually took off points. i wasn't the owner of the studio at that time, but that is something i always take a look at now. we only went once and i get info on the competition every year, but we always have some sort of conflicts on those dates. i wish i could of been more help.

i know dance expressions is holding one in allentown this year and if i remember correctly so is that's entertainment.

We cannot do Dance Expressions, my bosses do not like it and there is a connection with a former staff member and the director and there is some negative stuff attached to that, so we will not attend there again, anyway.

I have been to D.E. before, with my school. It was okay but I was not very impressed with the judging at the time. The owner is very nice and runs it well.

I like that Barbran sticks to their rules but, unfortunately, this year we will not do it as it is too early in March and the teachers feel that the kids will not be polished enough. Our next competition is late March, which will be okay.

But we will keep it in mind for next year and I might offer it to some of the private lessons to try. Thanks for your input. I still want to hear more, in case we do want to try it next time.
