Teachers - Music In Need of 1970's lyrical for duet en>fr fr>en By alioopjc Comments: 156, member since Sat Sep 23, 2006On Tue Oct 20, 2009 11:04 AM
I have two 10 year olds who are both very good dancers. Our recital theme is the 70's and I need a number for this lyrical dance. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. 5 Replies to In Need of 1970's lyrical for duet |

This is a good place to start - digitaldreamdoor.nutsie.com . . . It gives you the top 10 songs of every year in the 70's. My favorites off that list (for lyrical) are "Lean on Me," "Imagine," "Born to Run" and "Heroes." |

I second Lean on Me as it is conducive to a duet and the style of the song is that simple, clean, memorable feel the intimacy of a duet plays so nicely off of.

Lyrical songs we used for a decades theme for the 70s were:
How Deep Is Your Love - BeeGees (Emotions might be good too - could you fudge it a little with the Destiny's Child cover? not sure how strict you are with theming!)
Close to You - The Carpenters (cute for the little ones, not sure which age you need)
There's Got to Be A Morning After - Maureen McGovern
Hotel California - The Eagles (not sure for a duet though)
In response to a previous post... You Don't Send Me Flowers is Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond, I believe? And the Left the Cake Out in the Rain song is Donna Summer's MacArthur Park? |

Time in a bottle - Jim Croche
He Ain't Heavy (he's my brother) - The Hollies
Ripple - The Grateful Dead
Hope this helps...will post more as they come to me. Good luck. |
