About Central Park Dance, Re-MixX Central Park Dance has been located in Scarsdale, NY (25 minutes outside of NYC) for almost 30 years. We are very proud of our excellent reputation, and once again we have planned an exciting curriculum. There will be many inspiring activities, opportunities and events to mark this year.
Re-MixX is Central Park Dances non-for-profit Hip Hop and Jazz Funk Co. and has been in the works since 2006. Re-MixX performs throughout the year for different events and causes (for example Blythdale Children's Hospital, etc.) The company also performs for the studio's 2 large shows that take place during the year at SUNY Purchase College.
Work with Choreographers include: Silk Smoove, Brian Footwork Green, Vicki Fischer-Jenkins, J.T. Jenkins, Buddha Stretch, Angel Feliciano, Spex, Laya Barak, Robert Taylor, Nai and more!
We are looking for dancers ages 15 and up. Our dancers range in ages from teens to late 20's.
A minimum of 2 1/2 years of serious dance experience in hip hop/street jazz/ jazz funk. Must be able to pick up choreography well and fairly quickly.
Must be able to make rehearsals (currently on Sunday evenings and other times to come). It is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to take AT LEAST 1 technique class a week, as well as one of the regular hip hop classes.
Please bring resume or list of dance experience to audition.
