Hi DDN family! I have just had a request for a duet, and I need song ideas, I'm stumped, and I don't like the song ideas that the people requested.

Its a 13 or 14 year old, very tall for her age, and a little 6 or 7 year old, small for her age, they are family friends. Not realted. They have requested to do a hip hop or jazz duet. And their song ideas are Hoe Down Throw Down with or (this song by itself) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Which I don't like either of those ideas.

Any help here? I'm stumped. Thanks!

We had a jazz duet in comp last year of a 12 year old with a 7 year old (the only 2 that were signed up for jazz group in their level - weird!) and they did "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now" from Hairspray. They kind of adopted the characters but it was mostly jazz. Something like that might work with your situation.

Hannah Montana or Cheetah Girls would be appropriate for both ages. Also Hilary and Hayley Duff do a cover of Material Girl that could work.

I won't lie, I think teen and child duos mostly look ridiculous. I've seen it pulled off only a few times and there was heavy characterization. Like once it was a little girl dreaming about growing up. Which could be a neat idea. Get a mirror and her dressing up and dancing in front of it, turn it and there the older girl in the same costume the girl was dressing up in and have her a few bars alone and then turn it and work it like she dancing with her future self. Musically, I've got nothing for you, but ideawise, maybe that will spark something?

Thanks I do like this idea. Although I will have to look around for songs. I am drawing a blank.
