Last costume to decide on - this class racks my brain every year en>fr fr>en

I have one more costume to pick out - It is for beg level Jazz ages 6-8 and the Song is 5 little monkeys by go fish. Its a funky dance with alot of hip hop type moves in it, but I'd still classify it as Jazz. I cannot find a good costume for this group. They need to be in child -adult sizes as I have a heavier child in the group that does require an adult size - but I want it to still look young and fun. It has to have pants (not a skirt) as they will be doing alot of jumping and floor work.

I have scoured Curtain Call, Art Stone, Cicci, Costume Gallery, Leos, Baums, A wish come true and Revolution and none of them have anything in it that speaks to me.

So if anyone have any ideas from any other companies whose books I do nto get at the moment I would love to see it.

Thanks

I will search some for you, but I just have one question... Why can't you choose a skirt/dress costume? I mean, they all have leotards with them, as they are costumes in which dancers are meant to move and jump and be on the floor, and I sometimes feel like if you put limitations on your choice, you may pass up the best costume out there. Also, you could always put some opaque tights or jazz pants under it, as that's a really stylish look these days...

I would consider a costume with a skirt if it could have some pants under it - the cherography we've decided on just feels more like it should be pants. I'm also really careful about what I put this heavier student in, she has been with the studio for a couple years now and I've gotten to know what she's comfortable in and what she's not and it does really effect her performances. She's made some great improvements this last year and I want to keep her on that right track and want her to be comfortable in our choice of costume.

Weissman has some really cute things, and lots of the skirts would be cute with some capris under them, and many of them aren't very form fitting. Also, I applaud you for thinking of your dancer's body image. So many teachers pick costumes that they think are cute, regardless of the size of their dancers, and it makes me wonder if they care about the kids at all. (I'm a bigger girl myself so I think I notice it more...)

There are so many cute, hip hoppy type pants sets out there. You will be pickier than the parents so just step back and pick one that looks good on everyone and do not worry if it fits exactly what you wanted, as long as it looks nice and fits well.

Lebo's has a monkey costume. It has a bunch of different pieces for you to choose from - vest, shirt, pants, skirt, shorts, etc. It's really cute.

What about a capri jumpsuit, or a capri & cropped hoodie combo? I've seen this type in several catalogs - Curtain Call and Liberts that I know of for sure. It would be super easy to add your own monkey tail and ears if you felt the need...

or maybe pajamas?
