Hi,
I am choreographing "Anything Goes" this year for the high school. I have choregraphed many shows. Strangly, I've never even seen this show. I know it's on a ship.
Can anyone tell me how many dances there are and what the musical number is called.
Thanks in advance.

It is a GREAT show! I did it in high school as well and we have looked into doing with our kids!

Here is a synopsis:
musicals.net . . .

Here is a video of Patti LuPone and the revival cast:
www.youtube.com . . .

Here are a couple other dance numbers from the show:
Take Me Back to Manhattan
Delovely
Friendship

It's got some great tap numbers!! Have fun!

Hey

I did the choreography for an amateur group doing this show a couple of years ago! It was great fun and the music is fabulous!

We had great fun with "You're the Top" and "It's DeLovely" but my favourite was "Buddie Beware" with Erma and the sailors, it was a real chance to do some classic 50's type stuff!

Have a fab time

LOL

There's a movie of it that you can get on Amazon for $6 - www.amazon.com . . .

Trouble is, only some of the original songs are on it. Other "new" ones were added. But it would be a great place to start. You can also get the CD on Amazon. And Youtube's always a great resource.

Another great resource is Wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org . . .
Specifically the musical numbers - en.wikipedia.org . . .

Yes, this is in the early 1930's so the dances should reflect that time period. On Youtube you should find many versions and it will give you an idea of what to expect but stick with what works best for you. You will have to adjust according to the ability of your dancers. No two people choreograph the dances the same. I have done choreography from pieces from this show, for years, and they are never the same, each time.
