Okay guys, I am looking for ideas for songs I can mix together. I have a lot of combo classes this year and would love to use a mix for them for recital- one slower song they can do some ballet moves to and a more upbeat song to do some jazz moves to. So this would be for one number, just mixing up some styles within it so all of the students' skills can be showcased. Hopefully that makes sense!

I would find one song that you love and then make a theme off of that song. For example my hip hop is doing Shake so I am using songs that say shake in it from very hip hop(shake-ying yang twins) to not so hip hop (shake your groove thang). Independent might be a good theme (miss independent-kelly clarkson, neyo, and I think destiny's child has an independent song) hope this helped!

Another way to do it would be pick an artist this age group likes - you can mix songs for varied moods & tempos. Or search youtube for mashups - you might find one out there that fits your needs perfectly!

What about some of the Glee mashups? There's a really cute one with Halo and Walking on Sunshine that I use for warmup and all ages seem to love it.
