Hey Y'all,
Just curious if you give your teachers gifts for holidays such as Christmas, I haven't in the past but this is my first full on assisting year and was thinking if other assistants do this or not. Your thoughts? 3 Replies to Teacher Gifts |

As a 30 year veteran teacher, I do not expect a gift from my assistants unless they see something that they know I'd LOVE!
I always give my assistants a gift at Christmas and at recital for all that they do for me. I do NOT expect them to give me something in return. I feel that I owe them. I know that I am teaching them how to teach and lots of other things that go on in the business...but my assistants are a blessing and I want them to know that they are appreciated.
Frankly, I would love to somehow let students and parents know that I love their appreciation, but I'd rather everybody just put a dollar in a pot and bought me a gift card for music, or entertainment. Any ideas? |

I ALWAYS buy for my assistant, and I NEVER expect her to buy for me! She is my savior! I know she's getting experience but no pay so I always want to reiterate how much I appreciate her help. And I agree that useful gifts like itunes cards are sooo much better than ANOTHER candle! |

....or bodywash/spray . Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the thought and know that I don't need to get anything but a group giftcard for itunes or something class/dance related would be much more practical. |
