In 8 years I have never had to cancel a class but this year I got the dreaded H1N1 and was very sick. I ended up having to miss a week of classes which I am now making up. I sent reminders home and announced the make up days in every class. Friday was my first make up day and I had at least 3 crying children upset that there was no "make up" involved. lol, next time I'll bring a little lipstick to my make up classes. 12 Replies to a little lipstick.... |

It's not just the students who take things like that so literal. I once had to schedule a make-up class I to sent home reminders and posted a reminder in the lobby and I had one parent ask me if their child needed to come to or could she just get the information, and one ask me if I would be handing out a list of the brands they needed. So I guess some kids come by it honest from the parents. It took a lot for me not to laugh when this happened because at the time I was asking myself are they kidding or are they being serious??? When I realized they were being serious I had a smile on my face for the rest of the evening. |

Ok, I was upset, the first time that I took a make up class, as a child, that it was not a "Make Up" class. I thought that we were going to learn how to put on make up!! I think it is funny but I was the same way as a child. Maybe call them replacement classes, lol. |

Yes, the kids are always disappointed when we have our "make-up" class and we don't do make-up (I teach preschoolers)!! |

We've had that happen also! Even the moms thought it was a "makeup" class and wanted to know if they should bring their own or if we were providing the makeup. |
