Dance Formations and Transitions... en>fr fr>en

Does anyone else have a problem with formations and transitions? Small groups I find it very easy but my competition classes a little on the larger side and when doing formations and transitions I feel like I either never have enough space to do anything but 3 lines plus I have a wide variety of dance levels and heights in my classes. Any advice?

Someone reccomended on another thread to use m&m's which I though was great-I use sticky notes like mini post it's when calculating my formation changes. As far as size are you sure you're not over-spacing them? Or if you don't have enough space to do one formation do 2-for example instead of moving all 3 lines into 1 V move them into 2 One out side V and one inside V., or even 3 v's, or move them into smaller groups- have 3 pyramids formed with the middle one inverted to make space. overlapping circles (think olympic symbol) are also a good formation in a tight squeeze...
