Has anyone ever had a stress fracture in your foot? I am going to the doctor either tomorrow or Wednesday...so no worries, I won't be treating myself!

I just have had this pain in my foot for the past few days (or maybe longer...) that sometimes also feels like a burning sensation. It really hurts when I wake up in the morning, or after I've been on my feet for a long time.

Can I have a DDN pre-diagnosis?

Stress fractures don't really feel like burning-more like "giving out", or unsupported. (At least that's my personal experience). To me it sounds more like a muscle or tendon injury...but I am no doctor!

Is it under your arch? I get Planters Fasciitis often because I have very high arches. It's inflamed tissue in your foot. I get it if I don't get enough arch support for an extended time. If I wear my tennis shoes with arch supports for a good amount of time when it develops, it goes away.

It hurts the most in the morning or when I go to use my feet after a period of rest.

sounds more like tendinitis of some sort or Plantar fasciitis.

Guess you'll find out soon ;)

Finally went to the doctor yesterday...Classic case of fallen arches, but I was having so much pain because I have 5 or so accessory bones in my right foot, and 3 in my left. Haha I'm such a diva that even my skeleton needs accessories!

But seriously, she said that the only reason I was having all the pain is that because my arches have started to fall, all of my bones are shifting just a little, which in a normal foot wouldn't be so bad. Prescription: orthotic insoles and rx strength Motrin. Much better than some of the alternatives!

Hey, me too! I just went in for foot pain and got the same diagnosis. Here's to expensive orthodics!

I was surprised that extra bones was the cause of my pain. Do many people have extra bones in their feet?

Not that it's really a good thing but yay, I'm glad you found out what it was and yay it's not a fracture and you don't need surgery!! :)

Work with a good podiatrist and perhaps some physical therapy.

Good luck
