I want to teach my advanced girls the Pas De Quatre from swan lake for recital. Has anyone done this? Do you know if I will get in trouble? Of course I will note that it's not mine. Just curious...

I have done it before as have many others. My Ballet Mistress kept true to the choreography. Many companies do this, so I am not sure how they get around it. Perhaps adding a notation "Original choreography by Petipa"

Shouldn't be a problem. Petipa's choreography is not monitored like Balanchine's with the trust. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it falls under public domain due to the date of original choreography. Of course, give credit where credit is due, but the Petipa Police aren't going to hunt you down. I've seen it done in many recitals.

It's not a problem, it's called a repertoire class.

There are many versions of the Petipa choreography out there so you'll be able to find a good version that will suit them too, or if there are bit's where your memory fails you youtube is a great resource.
