Teachers - Music Ballet song with Dolls en>fr fr>en By Dom919 Comments: 123, member since Tue Jul 29, 2003On Wed Nov 18, 2009 06:19 PM
I have a combo class of 5&6 year olds. I wanted to use this costume and I was thinking it might be cute to incorporate the doll somehow, but I am al a loss for song ideas. I need the song to be somewhat simple.. there are 21 of them (!!) and they tend to get a bit crazy and it is hard to keep all of them focused, so I'm thinking a song with words would probably be my best bet.
Any ideas??

You might try Musicworks Unlimited.com for an Al Gilbert song and dance called "I Love To Teach My Doll Ballet". I used it a number of years ago and it's cute. |

I was just gonna say the same thing. My 2 1/2 year old class is using this for recital. Musicworks has at least one cd I know of with different doll-incorporating songs |

musicworksunlimited also has a song called "I am a Ballerina Doll". We are using it this year with that costume! The words are something like:
I'm a Ballerina Doll
In my pink tutu
Look at all the pretty steps
I have learned to do
Demi-plie, echappe
That is French you see
And when you put them in a dance
It's choreography! |

You can also use the doll as a "baby".
"Rock a bye Baby", "Baby of Mine", etc. |

Just looked it up. The training aids (individual songs and notes) at musicworksunlimited are $20 each. But you can order # CD4016 and it has 8 songs with notes including "It's Fun to Teach My Ballet Doll" and "I'm a Ballerina Doll". That CD of 8 songs is $25.
Hope this helps! |

Did a cute recital dance last year to Me and My Shadow off the Teddy Bear Tunes CD by Georgiana Stewart. I used teddy bears as their "shadow" but you could use anything. It's a really cute song. |

When I first started teaching we had a 3&4 year old class dance with dolls and the song was "I Have a Dolly". I can't remember who it is by and have been looking for the song myself but it is great. The words are: "I have a dolly just this high, with golden hair and big brown eyes, she can walk and she talk, and this is the way my dolly walks" and the kids can show their dance steps. Hope this helps!! |

We have used Hello Dolly, Dance with a Dolly, Oh You Beautiful Doll.
Al Gilbert has a Christmas CD with a great song about a doll who is nervous to go home from the doll hospital. Can't think of the tile.
"Are my ears on straight, is my nose in place
Have I got a cute expression on my face
are my blue eyes bright, do I look all right
to be taken home Christmas Day". |
