In a random search on IMDB.com (I love that site), I saw a movie project scheduled for 2011. Jessica Biel is linked to the project. Anyone know anything about it? Maybe some our dance.net community could audition! I hope it's done tastefully and of a rating that my kids would be allowed to view.

I just hope they portray twirlers as hard working athletes and not dingy bubbleheads that move a baton up and down.
The movie kind of makes me worried.

I’d love to see a contemporary baton movie! But like they said in the above posts, I hope it’s done right. I’d hate to see a twirling version of “Bring it On”. I have a VHS of that old one from the 80’s called “Twirl”. My coached showed it to us in Jr. High and I bought it on ebay as an adult. It’s not the best movie ever, but I love the idea of a movie about Baton!

That makes me worried. I'd hate to see baton be "bashed." I am excited to see the storyline though...

I'd love to see a twirling movie that actually shows the art, sport and intense practice need that twirling actually is and is required.
But let's be real, there is a lot of ego, back stabbing and even inappropriate relationships that occur from the real twirlling world that a movie producer could have field day with.

I just hope a producer captures the hard work and honesty of the great majority of twirlers.

Frankly I think Twirling deserves a high profile movie of some kind, but perhaps more in a documentary style 'true to life' form than purely an entertainment hollywood flick. In my short time involved with Twirling I've been amazed at the dedication, hard work and talent that is involved with this sport that should be acknowledged by the widespread media.

On this subject, wasn't there a documentary made in Canada about Twirling that was supposed to be quite awesome? I believe some exerts from it are available to view on Youtube. I'll try and hunt one out.

Not sure if it was CoachT, but thanks for sharing the Raining Batons link it looks really interesting. It's inspiring for a new Baton Twirler like me to see stories like this
