About The Dancer's Emporium The Dancer’s Emporium serves as a haven for entertainment, arts opportunities and training for the aspiring and professional dancer, teacher choreographer and general public. We consist of a collaboration of experienced and extensively trained individuals from all walks of life who’ve come together for the rehabilitation and nurturing of the performing arts in the state of North Carolina.
The Emporium Dancetheater Company (EDTC) is a theatrically-driven dance company that is committed to building opportunities for aspiring and professional dance artists. By creating American dance works of extraordinary caliber and artistry they make it possible for dance artists to enhance their careers right in their own communities. Our chosen style of movement is Contemporary, Traditional Modern and Jazz dance.
Professional Artistic Director is looking for a partner with extensive training and experience in the Performing Arts as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. You must be at least 18 years of age. Qualified person should have experience in Classical Ballet, Modern dance, contemporary and Jazz dance. Please note that this is not a paid position (immediately). Candidate must have reliable transportation to and from company events and rehearsals. Must live in the Charlotte region or no further than 1 hour outside of the Charlotte region.
This individual should have a desire to assist in running a dance company, dance training program, talent network and more. Individual must have a desire to choreograph when needed, teach when needed and more. I am looking for an individual who is looking to share the responsibilities in the following:
- Building (from the ground up) a dance arts empire to consist of a professional-grade performance company, dance-arts training program, & more;
- Periodically handle administrative tasks that includes booking performances, teachers and more;
- Choreographing dancetheater works and company repertoire;
- Co-direct rehearsals and more.
ONLY SERIOUS, PASSIONATE, DRIVEN, EXPERIENCED DANCE ARTISTS NEED TO RESPOND!
For consideration, all will be briefly auditioned, will need to have a video/dvd of choreographic style, current bio and availability of 2 days a week for rehearsals starting the first week of January.
