Hi!
It's been a fair while since my last picture, so I finally decided I'd have another crack! This is from "The Ballet Companion" by Eliza Gaynor Minden. I'm not satisfied with it, but I thought I'd put it up and get everyone's opinion. I thought perhaps it needs lighter highlights/darker shadows? But anyway, tell me what you think.

I think it's beautiful! The shading is lovely. If I had to change one thing, though, it would probably be the proportions of the supporting foot's toe box. But other than that it's perfect |

Thanks! I hadn't realised that! It is quite tapered in comparison, isn't it? Yes, I think I will have another go at that. Thanks for pointing it out. |

I don't get what the first person said about the foot because I don't take ballet but I like it. I think the shading is just right in my opinion. I love it! |

Looks great!
One thing: don't use "outlines". They flatten the picture. See how you outlined the ribbons? instead of doing that, compare the value of the ribbons vs the feet. the difference in value (if in a sharp like) should replace the outline and look good |

Gorgeous! Is this charcoal?
One thing I notice is that some of the shading could be blended in a bit more. Like on the leg that's in the air (sorry, dont know anything about ballet, heh) the lights and darks just seem a little sketchy there.
I like it! |

Very nice. I love how the pointe shoe really looks like it's holding the proper amount of weight also. That can be difficult sometimes |

Thank you!
It all seems so obvious once it's been pointed out! I'll certainly try to improve my shading, and I think I'll draw a new picture using your method SaNDiMas59. Thanks everyone for the help!
