Glucosamine and chondroiton are great for cartilage issues. I had knee problems and it really did help. My doctor told me to take it, so I am confident it is safe. I had a gravelly feel that went away after a few months. Helped me avoid surgery.

I've been taking it for years but I also take it with MSM added to it. I'm pretty much up to trying anything if I can prolong my next knee surgery.

My gramma takes glucosamine, and she swears that the very best ones come from Costco. Their like $60 a bottle, but she says they more then pay for themselves.

I was at Sam's tonight, checking all of these out! LOL!

If you're like me, and couldn't swallow a pill if your life depended on it (I had to break my prenatal vitamins in half, and a life pretty literally DID depend on that, and I still couldn't swallow a pill), they do make a glucosamene drink as well, there were a couple of brands of those.

But yep, gramma swears the ones from Costco are the only ones worth anything.

I've been taking them for years. They are pretty much safe, and my doctor told me even if they do not help much for the joints, then they will at least even out a persons blood sugar levels over the course of the day. I do think they have helped esp. for my knees, as I am not in as much discomfort when the weather turns wetter/colder. Others have told me they do not do much and I am just wasting money taking them.

Okay.. I'm sorry for rejuvenating an old thread.. BUT I feel you should be in the know about this:

If you are at all sensitive about sodium be REALLY careful about which glucos Chon you pop into your system.

If it has Boswellia extract, that can exascerbate signs and symptoms of RA arthritis.. along with causing joints to swell and ache.

I would recommend purchasing your items from well known pharmacies, e.g. Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS.. as they have a really good return policy.

Hope this helped.

Shadow.
