Audition Etiquettes
1. Criteria for choosing dancers (in no rank of importance)
• Activeness on VIS
• The Performances and Roles done on VIS
• The Jobs done on different performances on VIS
• Real Life Experience
2. Auditions have to kept out for AT LEAST a week in order to give people ample time to respond.
3. Casters are only to cast dancers/actors/etc after the week of auditions are over
4. If a person directs/casts a lot of productions, they must not always cast the same person in the same type of role.
5. A caster must not be biased to anyone in the VIS. If we do find out, we will have to re-do the auditions with another person’s opinion.
6. Casting should absolutely not be based on a first come fist serve basis!
7. There should be an audition piece meaning if it’s a ballet, the caster should ask the people auditioning to write out a short center exercise. (This will be left to the caster’s discretion).
Audition Forms
Ok guys, I’ve come up with a standard form that I think everyone can use for their auditions. Maybe having a standard form will help the audition process and will help make things fair.
Name:
Age:
Dorm:
How often you are on VIS: (Once a week, Twice a week, etc)
Roles played in performances in VIS:
Jobs done on performances in VIS:
Real Life Experience in Dance: (List the no. of years in each form)
Real Life Experience in Singing: (List the no. of years in what form)
Real Life Experience in Acting: (List the no. of years and what kind of acting)
Performances done in Real Life: (Put the dance ones first, followed by acting)
Roles auditioning for:
Audition Piece:
Basically, the caster may take out some criteria as for something like a ballet performance, we wouldn’t have to know how well someone sings. Hope all this helps to make the audition process a lot easier and fairer! Take Care guys!

Wow, thanx for this post! It was so well thought out and I am so glad because it is so much fairer. Not that I ever had a problem with fairness before, but now this makes sure that won't happen. Great job! |

wow, you did a great job with that! i totally agree, it's just a lot easier if everyone followed the same format, that way it's more fair. thanks for taking the time to write all of that!
