This was the first class I did last year- I just want to know where you are at. Is this too easy or too hard or just right??

------------------------------------------------------------

Stretch: Always start with warming-up and stretching! This is SO important…you don’t want to hurt yourself.

* Start with leaning over to touch your toes. Two counts of eight.

* Grasp your hands over your head and bend right being sure to stretch with your abs not arms. Straighten back up. Do this five times on each side.

* Bend knee and grab foot behind your bottom. Hold for count of eight. Repeat on other side.

* Start in second position. Slowly reach down your right side (1, 2, 3, 4) and hold for the rest of the count of eight. Repeat again on left.

* Right Splits! Hold for three counts of eight.

* Left Splits! Hold for three counts of eight.

* Open Splits! Hold for three counts of eight.

* Do three pull-through’s.

At the Barre:
If you don’t know what something is, I’d look it up. If you can’t find anything, please let me know! I find that an edge of a counter or a table works well for a make-shift bar!

Helpful Hint: Make it a big deal to roll through your shoes when you go from flat, to half, to three quarters, to full. Make it bigger than normal to really get your feet working.

* Plie Routine-
- Start 1st Position
- Demi Plie (1, 2)
- Straighten (3, 4)
- Demi Plie (5, 6)
- Straighten (7, 8)
- Half Pointe (1, 2)
- Three-Quarter Pointe (3, 4)
- Full Pointe (5, 6)
- Three-Quarter Pointe (7, 8)
- Half Pointe (1, 2)
- Flat (3, 4)
- Grande Plie (5, 6, 7, 8)
- Rise (1, 2, 3, 4)
- Eleve (5, 6)
- Eleve (7, 8)
- Half Pointe (1, 2)
- Three-Quarter Pointe (3, 4)
- Full Pointe (5, 6)
- Flat (7, 8)
- Repeat in 2nd, 4th, and 5th position

Leg/Foot Work Routine-
- Begin in 1st position using right leg
- Tendus front (1, 2)
- Pull back (3, 4)
- Repeat 10 times
- Tendus second (1, 2)
- Pull in (3, 4)
- Repeat 10 times
- Tendus back (1, 2)
- Pull in (3, 4)
- You guessed it! Repeat 10 times
- Repeat on left

Center Floor-
Again, if you have any questions on a step look it up or ask!

- Start right fifth
- Entrechat right (& 1)
- Repeat 10 times
- Repeat on left

- Begin right fifth plie
- Jete onto flat right foot
- Return to right fifth plie
- Repeat 5 times
- Repeat on left

- Begin in fifth (either leg!)
- Slowly go into flat foot arabesque
- TRY to raise onto half pointe and then onto full pointe
** Don’t worry so much about the height of your arabesque…worry more on trying to get onto pointe!
- Repeat on other leg

- Balancé right (1, 2, 3)
- Balancé left (4, 5, 6)
- Demi Plie (7, 8)
- Repeat for four more counts of 8

I promise it won’t be this long or hard every week…once we get the pointe part started it will get quicker and less detailed, because you will know your stuff! Whoooooo!

Hey, thanks heaps for the class! Will do it tomorrow probs

Just so you know, I have limited net access, so if it seems like I'm taking ages to reply to classes, it's probably because I generally can't get on until the weekend.
