1. It's hard to believe that's really a cake, isn't it?

2. You could always have a fun cake like this and add something that says "18" to it.

3. Cupcakes are an idea! :)

4. And last but NOT least. The best cake ever! The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake with Cream cheese and Butterfinger Frosting.

Here's the ingredients:

Filling

* 2 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
* 1/2 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
* 12 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
* 1/2 cup old-fashioned (natural) chunky peanut butter

Cake

* 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
* 1/2 cup old-fashioned (natural) chunky peanut butter
* 1 pound golden brown sugar
* 4 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup buttermilk

Frosting

* 1 1/2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
* 2 cups powdered sugar, divided
* 6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 3/4 cup chilled heavy whipping cream
* Butterfinger candy bars, coarsely chopped
* Glazed peanuts

And here's the rest of the recipe: www.epicurious.com . . .

Happy Birthday in advance! :)

Since your original photo was quite girly, I thought that this would be a nice way to go. A simple two tier cake, that someone or you could easily make, with a white rolled fondant icing (www.amazon.com . . .) for about $29. Add to this ribbon and cute feather boa from a craft store.

Then for the adorable bits:

Heart edible confetti $2.59 - 4.99 (www.cakeart.com . . .)

Edible Glitter for a fun and girly twist $3.59 - 6.99 (www.cakeart.com . . .)

Edible photos (how fun and original!) $18.00 (www.orderediblephotos.com . . .)

Edible butterflies (you get 20) $9.95 (www.etsy.com . . .)

Good luck with the cake and have fun!

Wow that is a really neat cake, I like the ideas of the edible photos, fondant always makes the most professional looking cakes, although i hear it doesnt taste great in large quantities, I had some for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it tasted pretty good tho!

Good luck finding a great cake!

Cupcakes! Like this:

One of my friends had lots of cupcakes on a large stand, similar to the photo for her wedding and it was gorgeous! Not even that expensive either.

How about birthday cupcakes? They are cheap and easy to make and you don't have to commit to having only 1 theme. For example, if you're athletic and like to dance, both of those themes might look a bit odd together on a cake. With cupackes, it doesn't look so out of place. More often than not (depending on where you order from, what you order, quanitity, ect.) cupcakes can be cheaper as well. They are easier to decorate compared to a cake, should you decide to make it yourself.
You could also have a smaller cake in the middle, incase anyone is picky and wants it or you just want to have a pretty centerpiece!!!
