Hola everyone,

PMs have been sent to you all regarding the class and your current situation.

Btw, today's class is slightly shorter than usual, as I have been busy doing homework, gah! However, there is still a nice long stretch for you to do.

-Just to clarify and remind everyone, devant = to the front, de cote = to the side (not sure about that one, but I'll use it anyway), and derriere = to the back
Anyways, lets get started:

Barre

Plies

Begin first, arm brasbas
Demi plie, with a breathe of the arm, for 2 counts
Rise and lower, with a simple port de bras to second, for 2 counts
Grand plie, taking the arm to brasbas, for 4 counts
Raise arm to first, for 2 counts
Tendu to second, arm to second, for 2 counts
Lower heel, lower arm to brasbas, for 4 counts
Repeat in second, tendu-ing round to front, then pulling into fifth
Repeat in fifth, closing last tendu into first
Turn and repeat on other side

Battement frappe
-These need to be super sharp, a contrast from the flowing plies

Begin fifth, arm brasbas
Raise arm to first, for 2 counts
Tendu to second, open arm to second, for 2 counts
Close foot to frappe position devant
Frappe devant, for 2 counts
Frappe devant, for 2 counts
Frappe de cote, for 2 counts
Frappe de cote, for 2 counts
Frappe de cote, for 2 counts
Frappe derriere, for 2 counts
Frappe derriere, for 2 counts
Lower foot, derriere, arm opening to demibras (palms down), and closing to brasbas, for 2 counts
Turn and repeat

Centre

Stretch

Begin parallel, arms by sides
Soften kneew, and roll down through the spine until hands are as close to floor as possible, for 8 counts
Straighten knees (standing hamstring stretch), for 8 counts
Roll back up through the spine, for 8 counts
Step forward onto right leg, front leg bent, back leg straight (calf stretch), for 16 counts
Pick up back leg (left), and pull behind your butt (quad stretch), for 16 counts
Step left leg forward into claf stretch, for 16 counts
Pick up back leg (right) into quad stretch, for 16 counts
Stand parallel and pull left arm across chest (stretches behind shoulder, for 16 counts
Pull right arm across chest, for 16 counts
Step right leg forward into long lunge, left knee on floor and right knee above ankle, for 16 counts
Slide down into right splits, for 16 counts
Bring left leg around to meet right, flex feet, and lean forward (sitting hamstring stretch), for 8 counts
Stand up, and step left leg forward into long lunge, for 16 counts
Slide into left splits, for 16 counts
Bring right leg around to meet left, lie down on back with arms above head, and stretch out all your muscles, for 16 counts

Port de Bras
-You did this port de bras a few weeks ago, so now that you basically know it, I want you to focus on the quality. Use all your counts, use your head, and give it a nice quality

Begin fifth, right foot front, arms brasbas
Breathe the arms, for 4 counts
Raise arms to first, for 2 counts
Open arms to fourth, left arm top, for 2 counts
Change the fourth so that the right arm is top, for 2 counts
Change the fourth so that the left arm is top, for 2 counts
Take the right arm to brasbas, left staying up, for 2 counts
Tae the left arm down to first, right arm up to first, for 2 counts
Open arms to fourth, left arm top, for 2 counts
Open left arm to second, for 1 count
Lower arms to brasbas, for 1 count

Experts: Repeat on other side (Right arm to fourth first, then swap etc.)

Pique turns
-This is from the corner

Begin fifth, right foot front, arms brasbas
Tendu right foot devant, arms to first, for 4 counts
Plie supporting leg, open arms to third, for 4 counts
Do 7 pique turns, for 2 counts each, total of 14 counts
Finish last pique as though preparing for another (tendu devant, bent supporting leg), then stretch legs and close fifth, arms to brasbas.
Repeat on other side

That's all for this week, so I hope to see more people replying to class, and am looking forward to getting PMs from some of you ;)

Thank you! I love pique turns! :) Though they make me dizzy as anything, I enjoy them. Great class!
