poms is a little like dance. In poms a lot of what you're looking for is how together everyone is and how sharp everything is. It's really fun. |

^ that and we also do a lot of tricks and stuff. like Fouettes and Pirouettes and leaps and jumpts and stuff. Also they judge on sharpness and use of poms... the combos of colors and tricks like tossing/throwing. |

Poms is dancing in sync with other people on a team. In competitions, we do things with the poms to create color effects or a picture or word by putting them together in a certain way. It's basically that plus dance-kicks, turns, leaps, axels, etc. And we also do things like contagiants to make a really good show for the audience and judges. It's tons of fun, you should try it some time!:-)

The most awesome thing is watching the 32 girls on my daughter's pom tem do a perfect kickline, or simultaneous toe-touches!!! |

Poms is all about performance and syncronization. You try to make up unique dance routines that really catch the crowd's eye. There is a lot of technique involved as well, if one girl is off, it takes away from the routine. Everyone has to do every move the same. It's a lot of hard work and even practicing at home, but it is so worth it. Especially right after a good performance. You just feel so proud of all that it took to get the routine were it was. I think that Poms ROCKS! Nicole |
