where you look around you and you are satisfied with your life/where you are/what you have achieved?

Im 22, have 2yrs left of Uni before i can start my chosen career (teacher), am single, have a part time job, have no savings, and feel lost. I want so much the stability that I imagine one gains in their 30's.. Home owner, strong social circle, savings, career.. Does it really fall into place? Or will I feel just as overwhelmed and lacking in 10+ years?

Well, I feel I'm doing pretty okay. I'm 34, a teacher with a steady contract (yay for no more temps!), a house (rented, yay for no mortgage!), student loan paid off, no debts and a few thousand in savings (which will soon be squandered on getting my eyes lasered ...)
I don't have a boyfriend and I have an incredibly small circle of friends (I'm not on Facebook or similar networking sites either), but that's exactly the way I like it.

I think the best way to get at peace with yourself is to really think about your priorities and your personality. I'm not a social person, socialising gets on my nerves, although I keep in touch with immediate family, a couple of friends from highschool and my neighbours. To me it's a chore, but it's better for me if I do. There is (or rather used to be) a pressure from people to join online networking sites, but that's not me so I won't. :P To me it's just weird: if people want to talk to me, send an e-mail or better: talk to me!

As for finances: if you live carefully you will get them in order. I was raised on the basis of save before you spend and while it is absolutely no fun, it is a pretty foolproof way to keep me from getting collection agencies on my back. Try not to get into debt too much before you get your job. The good thing about being a teacher is that, while it's not exactly a get-rich-quick job, it is a steady job with a good future (hey, as long as kids are being born, there will be a demand for teachers! LOL), and you'll be able to make a living from it as long as you're not extravagant.

What you could do is think about who you are, maybe even write some things down. Also, talk to people who know you well (family and/or friends) and ask them to describe you, and be prepared to hear and accept the bad points as well as the good.
I think (but I'm not a psychologist ...) that people who are at peace with themselves and accept that they have shortcomings and live with them, can withstand temptations so much better and counteract the pressures from society to adapt.

Well, this was probably a most pointless answer to your question ... ;) Was it even worth 2 cents? LOL

You will find your way!

I felt like you but now I am in my thirties I think you just look around you and think "I am happy how I am" whether that is single/married/kids/no kids it just clicks into place.
Don't give up and good luck with you career:)

When I was in my 20s I felt the same way. I think it was probably when I was around 28 that I started to feel comfortable with where I was at professionally & financially. Personally took a little longer as I was hanging out with some toxic people because I was dating one of them. Now, I'm happy, there are still times when I do the "what if" but I'm definitely where I wanted to be when I thought about it 10 years earlier.

I think getting out of college really helps. But, It does get better.

There are priorities and how we choose to define them and both change with time. It seems that what you are looking for is a territory of your own and that's being expressed via a desire for home, independence and relationships.

Stability only comes with time and investment but wanting it is the best start anyone could make, just give yourself time for it to come into fruition.

Try enjoying what you have in the moment because that's real ownership.
